Waiting for Sandy

I am currently in up state New York (they call it Rockland. I do not see any rock here. Oh those Americans, they drive car on park way where you are supposed to be parking and park on drive ways where you are supposed to be driving. They call hand ball football and football saucer and many other confusing things). The media says “you have to get ready to receive Sandy and have as much as candles you can have”. Usually bishops like me are welcomed with candles. I do not know whether this lady (?) would be some higher ecclesiastical personality than I am to be received with several candles where as people like me get only one candle reception? Again why people call hurricanes with feminine names? Hey this is a crazy world.

I think Nicholovos thirumeni is waiting for SANDY.
By the way, we give names to people and events according to the nature of their seriousness. Women, by the way, are more serious.

    Dear Thirumeni,

You are funny, indeed, once in a while. Regardless of how many candles were used to welcome Sandy, she did a good job; we will have to pay for it.

Hope your stay at the rockless Rockland county is pleasant lol.

Wanted to see you, but can’t because of certain exigencies. May the Good Lord keep you well, along with the rest of us. In the meantime,

    Prayerfully yours,

    John & Veena

Of course John. We need laugh once in a while. Of course business will get some benefit from Sandy.
I am on a train to LA and is now in Albuquerque. Sandy helped Jetblue to cancel the ticket and then I had to reach LA on Saturday. So I took a train from Albany to LA and I am enjoying it. I always wanted to have a cross country road trip. Now it is the rail trip. Hope I will have road trip later some time. Did Sandy affect you in way? Hope you were not affected. God be with you and your family.
    Love and prayers

Rockland County is a suburban county in the U.S. state of New York. Located 15 miles (24 km) northwest of Manhattan and part of the New York City Metropolitan Area, it is the southernmost county in New York west of the Hudson River, and the smallest county by area in New York outside of New York City. The population, as of the 2010 census, was 311,687.[1] The name derives from “rocky land”, as the area was described by early Dutch and English settlers. In the decades following the Revolution, Rockland became popular for its stone and bricks.
If one ever gets a chance to visit beautiful Rockland County and walk around the pristine County they will find many rocks in their trails.

      Thanks, Thirumeni,

Of course, we were not left alone; Sandy did not discriminate against us. We were part of the 1.2 mil PSE&G (Public Service Gas & Electricity) customers with no electricity, and hence no heat.’

Hope, you had a pleasant and safe trip to LA

But, we had a fasting retreat at our St. Thomas Knanaya Orthodox Church in Clifton, headed by H.G. Mor Silvanos Ayub. It was very devotional and highly enlightening. It is hard for me to comprehend that this Thirumeni could pray for so long without any visible text in front of him. He, indeed, is a blessing to the Knanaya community, and others (by the way, Veena Hails from the Knanaya community).
