Felt good hearing your onam message. Thanks for brining out the need for inclusive outlook in religion,so essential for peaceful and happy co-existence of humanity. I am sure some young hearts have been touched with the broader outlook. Flower bed #11 is impressive.
With love and prayers to you, Thirumeni,

Thank you Balan. Unfortunately they chose 9. Tastes are different. When is your Onam celebration, or has it got over?

Thank you Your Grace for the simple, lucid and compelling message. Your message of inclusiveness (not to be confused with dilution of faith and doctrine) reminded me of a warning Pope Francis gave in a recent interview of the risk of losing the freshness and fragrance of the Gospel in the noise and confusion of dogma and doctrine.

I love to see this . many qustions are devoloped here.
    1. ONAM AS A USUALY CELEBERATED IN OUR HOMES . WE CLEAN AND DECORATE OR HOMES . AND HAVE FEAST. BUTIS IT NECESSARY TO BRING ALL THIS TO CHURCHES. IF SO IN GUJARATH AND M.P NAVARATHRI GARBHA IS THE CULURAL ONE FOR ALL GUJARATHIS.. THEY PUT AN IDOL OF DURGA
AND ALL PEOPLE DANCES AROUND THAT. . CAN A CHRISTIAN DO THAT ? SAME WAY GANESH UTSALAV IS OBESRVED BY ALL IN WESTERN M.P AND MAHARASTRA. CAN A GANESH PANDAL SET UP IN CHRUCH , SO I WOULD LIKE TO SAY THAT WE SHOULD RESTAIN SUCH CULTURAL THINGS AWAY FROM CHURCH

      Dear Jacob
I don’t think you got my point clearly enough. I did say that the Church has to re-interpret the festivals. For onam the Hindu community place three small tower like structures in the middle of the flower bed. We don’t do that. Again we would not be celebrating the good days of the past. Rather of the future too. Of course the good days of the past in the garden of Eden is to be remembered. But unlike the matter in Onam, we will also be taking it to the future when our Lord will bring back the past glory. Again for Ganesha Utasav we can avoid the idol, but can place a cross in the pandal and observe it. I do not know the story and details of the celebration of Navaratri or Ganesha festival in the north to make detailed suggestions to make them Christian festivals. But I am sure that is possible and that way we can join our fellow beings. Regards and prayers, Thirumeni

The rationale provided for the (Trichur) Diocesan sponsorship of Onam celebration leads me to the realization that the Lord’s Second Coming is INDEED imminent –
much sooner than what has been anticipated thus far.
