A Visit to St. Dionysius Orthodox Church, Al Ain

I visited St. Dionysius Orthodox Church, Al Ain, UAE after its consecration on Tuesday, April 15th 2014. This was my second visit. I visited the Church last November when it was still under construction. I was accompanied by Rev. Fr. Jose Chemmanam, Vicar of St. George Orthodox Cathedral, Abu Dhabi, his wife and Mr. Thomas of a member of the Abu Dhabi Church committee member. The Church was constructed at a cost of 7.5 million Dhirams. H.G. Dr. Yuhanon Mar Chrisostamos Metropolitan was in station for the passion week services. Rev. Fr. Saji, vicar and committee members received us. We had noon prayer and lunch afterward.

Excellent pictures Thirumeni……and you are looking “happy” and “healthy”, perhaps even a little amused in some pictures,if I might dare say! Have a blessed week and wish you a blessed Resurrection of our Lord !!!

    Warmest personal regards,

    Dear Thirumeni,
Is Cross allowed at the top of the churches in U.A.E? One of my friends told me that in Dubai it is not a problem but in other emirates, it is not allowed. Nice photos. Is the church built in the name of Vattasseril Thirumeni?

No Saju. Cross is not normally allowed. They asked for a day to the municipality during their consecration. They allowed and after that they never removed it.
